Create Your Own "Glamellia"

(Skill level - beginner)

Materials Needed:
  • wire
  • tape (stem wrap)
  • floral adhesive
  • 18" ribbon
  • gladiolus stems
  • roskus greens
Step #1: Prepare Gladiolus
  1. Select one tight gladiolus bud and insert a piece of wire through the bottom about 1/4 of the way through bud.
  2. Tape with stem wrap approximately half way down wire.
Step #2: Add Flower "Petals"
  1. Take graduated sizes of floret and slice open bottom.
  2. Remove pistol and stamen material.
  3. Wrap and glue lower end of floret to base of center bud.
  4. Using thin wire, wrap around base and tape.
Step #3: Add Florets
  1. Apply as many florets as you like to enlarge as much as you desire
  2. Use wire and tape to secure.
  3. Tape entire piece of wire and trim to desired length.
Step #4: Add Leaves and Ribbon
  1. Attach leaves with tape. Position leaves so that they will support petals.
  2. Add additional leaves to stem of flower.
  3. Wrap ribbon on stem by holding upside down, folding 2" of ribbon on bottom and wrap towards flower bud to seal loose ribbon.
  4. Shape stem to look more natural.
