Materials Needed: |
- 2 bunches of dried wheat (any kind)
- Floral tape or wire
- Ribbon (raffia, raffit, or ribbon)
Step #1: Wheat Stems |
- Hold wheat stems vertically in your hand and add wheat stems one by one at an angle.
Step #2: Adding Stems |
- Continue adding wheat stems by slowly lowering the wheat as you complete the circle and go around again until you reach your desired width.
Step #3: Wrapping Stalk |
- When you have reached your desired stalk width and size, wrap stalk where your hand is located with the floral tape or wire.
- Wrap very tightly so wheat will not move.
Step #4: Cutting Stems |
- Hold end of stems together and cut stems to similar length.
- Stems should spring back into spiral shape.
Step #4: Add Ribbon |
- Wheat should be able to stand on its own.
- Wrap ribbon around the neck to cover tape or wire.
- Add silk or dried flowers to accent if you desire.
