Materials Needed:
  • Inexpensive wooden frame
  • Spray paint/paint
  • 1/2 yard of natural raffia (or ribbon)
  • 10 -20 blooms from silk flower stems
  • Glue (hot glue or tacky)
Step #1: Painting the Frame
  1. Purchase an inexpensive wooden frame from a craft store.
  2. Spray paint (or paint with acrylic) the frame either outside or in a well-ventilated area. Let dry.
Step #2: Add Leaves
  1. Cut some leaves off flower stems. Glue down as base.
Step #3: Make a Shoe-string Bow
  1. Cut raffia into two equal pieces.
  2. Tie bow as if tying a shoe.
  3. Arrange loops; leave streamers.
  4. Glue bow on top of leaves in center of frame.
Step #4: Adding Flowers
  1. Cut flower heads off stems of silks (can use scraps from old ones).
  2. Start gluing individual flowers around bow (starting with the biggest blooms) and on top of other leaves
Step #4: Adding Smaller Blooms
  1. Add smaller blooms until clusters are full and colorful.
  2. Add photo, display and enjoy!
